Oh my gosh I’m so pumped to share some changes to our kitchen, and a view that I’ve never shown! I’ve never shared one side of our kitchen because there was nothing on the wall and our fridge was nothing to write home about lol! We solved both of our problems with a new “gallery wall” and a new LG Refrigerator with InstaView…(and a dishwasher!)….I’m freaking out excited with the changes! Finally our Kitchen is pretty much, almost done…lol…is anything ever really done?! lol!
“Gallery Wall”
I put “gallery wall” in brackets because it’s actually a wall of hanging cheese boards, but it feels like a fun and eclectic gallery wall. It was so simple and has become such a styled spot in our home! I picked up some cheese boards/cutting boards and I used some old rope that I had to create a cohesive tie for them all and hung each one on a brass screw….it took me about 3 hrs on a Saturday and it has totally made this side of the kitchen feel finished! Yaaaassss!

New LG Refrigerator of My Dreams!!!
The other reason that our kitchen is feeling finished and ahhhmazing is our new LG French-Door Refrigerator with InstaView! that we got from The Brick!! eeeep! Shut the front door…it’s amazing!
InstaView
InstaView means that the glass panel in the Door-in-Door is dark and then you go up to it, knock twice on it, and then it lights up….like seriously. Possibly the coolest appliance feature, ever!! You are able to quickly see what’s in your refrigerator without having to open the door, and then the Door-in-Door provides a super quick opening for things you use all the time, in my case, a bottle of wine that I have on the go, milk, and our favourite condiments like hot sauce and ketchup! InstaView and the Door-in-Door features combine to actually reduce cold air loss by 41% to help keep your food fresher longer.
Best of Both Worlds
I think you’ll love the high end look of the glass panel in the door, but also that the door isn’t always lit up, so you don’t have to worry about how you’ve styled your refrigerator! Such a stylish Win-win!

After Knocking: obsessed!!
Big Mistake Back Story (Big mistake….huge! – yup quoting Pretty Woman!)
Ok so, when we put in our new kitchen (which was originally the dining room), the space was so small that I didn’t think we could fit a 36″ fridge, so I went with a 30″ fridge. Oh my goodness I made a mistake. The fridge fit nothing, so we needed an extra fridge that ended up in our family room, until we could get a new refrigerator and retrofit the cabinets.
Life Lesson….no matter what, put in a 36″ fridge OR leave an opening for a 36″ fridge and fill it later with the LG French-Door Refrigerator with InstaView
Beverage Drawer
I chose this specific LG InstaView model because of the beverage drawer!
Ok, so since our kitchen is so small we couldn’t even entertain a wine fridge…or so I thought… This refrigerator has its own wine fridge, or pop, or beer, or bottled water fridge- whatever your little heart desires!! (You can also adjust the temperature to store anything you want in it!)
YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE THIS….
I fit an entire case of pop, a case of wine, and a case of beer in this drawer all at once! LIFE CHANGING!!
Not to mention the ice maker…so needless to say our family is enjoying ice cold drinks all day errday!
Here’s a look inside!
LG Dishwasher
We also switched out our dishwasher for the LG QuadWash from The Brick. QuadWash means that there are four spray arms instead of two, so the QuadWash dishwasher cleans from multiple angles so that your dishes are fully cleaned every time.
My favourite high tech functions in this dishwasher are are that the dishes come out completely dry with the help of the “extra dry” button, so you can easily put them away AND thanks to LG’s TrueSteam technology you can enjoy 60% less water spots for the most sparkling clean dishes ever…yay!
The Third Rack is Life Changing
My Favourite design feature with this dishwasher is the THRID RACK! Check this out! You can put your silverware on the top instead of in a basket! They still have the basket, if you like that style, but I could never go back! With the third rack, the silverware comes out completely clean every time, instead of a total crap shoot with the basket! lol!
I actually can’t believe our kitchen is pretty, almost, mostly, done! yay!
Let me know if you have any questions about the appliances and you can find the dishwasher and refrigerator at The Brick on display and try out the knock!! so good!
p.s. Let me know what you think of the new changes!
I’ll take this! lol!!

Love the idea of hanging the cutting boards on the wall! It’s very innovative and creative and you’re right, it looks eclectic. The dishwasher and the fridge are incredible, love how practical they are in addition to being beautiful from the outside.

Love your kitchen and great idea using cutting boards. Have to ask what the beverage is in pink & white stripe can?
leslie says
Thank you so much! They are 7Up with grapefruit…cutest can of all time. They come in a couple flavours and you just find them in the pop isle…so cute for stocking a bar cart with too!

I LOVE your kitchen, it’s an inspiration to me because we’re also planning on making a dining room into a kitchen in a 1928 bungalow (the current small kitchen doesn’t even have room for a fridge!). I’m going to make the current/old kitchen into a laundry/mud room. We also have the low window issue to deal with, so I love your solution! One quick question … do you have a microwave, and if so, where do you keep it? TIA xx
leslie says
Thank you so much…so glad it helps you! The microwave is in a pantry cabinet we have just to the right. It’s original cabinetry we kept in the original kitchen. I’ll share that space soon. It’s where our coffee maker is too.

Does the fridge door on the left by the wall hit the wall? I really want a fridge like this and have the same set up but thought the left door wouldn’t open all the way.. Love your kitchen.
leslie says
Thank you so much! The door doesn’t open 100% but it didn’t stop it from working really well and I would make the same decision again because it gave us so much more room. Hope that helps!
