Hey Y’alllllllllllllllllllll, if you’ve been following along, you know that we are turning an enclosed porch into our dining room fo’ the One Room Challenge!! In week one, I showed you how we had to replace all of the windows, and last week I shared our majah (say that the way Victoria Beckham says “Major” ) plans for the trim. This past week I have been hard at work on one of the most important details for a dining room: the tablescape! (confetti canon goes off!!!)
Design Crush / Dream / Goals
I love how design bloggers have gorgeous place settings and centrepieces on their tables, and seemingly never ending elaborate tablescapes!! Do you guys die when you see those, like I do?!
Making Fancy Dreams a Reality!
With our new dining room, I want to do just that. I’m so excited to have started our china cabinet collection with this project. ….like I want to know what all the different silverware is called and use ALL THE PLATES! You know?! Like I need to get the Pretty Woman tutorial on lock down! As your friend, I have included it for you to study! Gawd this movie makes me smile. That’s it, you’re all invited over on reveal day to watch Pretty Woman and eat in the new dining room with a fancy tablescape!! Are you in?!
Back Story
Do you remember last year, I did a Valentine’s tablescape (it was featured on Style Me Pretty Living!) and I used a really stunning cake stand as the centrepiece? Here’s a couple pics in case you’re like whaaaaa? It’s the white cake stand that I’m gushing about! 
The cake stand that I just showed you is made by Skyros Designs which is like a super posh fab designer of all things tabletop and glass. The designer, Kathy, creates all the pieces and then has them hand made in Portugal. Hand made people…like in the scene from Ghost…except with a Portuguese Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze (God rest his soul…tear).
How Do You Pick Your Place Settings?!
Ummmm with HELP! I have fallen so deeply in love my cake stand, that I reached out to Skyros and said, we need to rock this One Room Challenge Reveal like the final dance scene in Dirty Dancing! (I’m feeling Patrick Swayze and 80’s movies right now so, I’m just going with it!)
At this point I was put in touch with my “Barney Thompson” a.k.a. the name of the concierge in Pretty Woman and her name is Diana!! (yell that like Oprah!) Such the perfect name for someone who is all knowing about fanciness!
Diana has walked me through step by step how to knock a tablescape out of the park, so in turn, I can walk you guys through it!! EEEP! I will absolutely share with you all those details on my reveal and in so many posts after, when I keep redesigning my dining tablescapes forever!
Which Do I Choose?
At this point I am completely stale mate / at a dead stop with which dishes to choose. I love two sets so much.
Villa Beleza

Which do you prefer?! I’m pretty much sure I’m going with Villa Beleza. No wait Historia. No Beleza…shit. I am not sure of anything. Diana HELP!!!!

I really like the Villa – pretty design and more unique than the second – and white 🙂 I was just watching pretty woman last night. Looking forward to seeing everything come together. No matter which you go with it will be beautiful.

I guess Villa Beleza. By the way, I’m sure which ever one you really pick will be perfection with everything else you choose. Btw, do you know what paint finish should go on porch pillars??? Satin, semi gloss, or high gloss? <= My design delimma of the day. 🤔
Thank you so much! Hmmm I don’t know I’m sure it’s up to you. Ours looks like Satin. But they definitely sell exterior paint, so that might help narrow down your choices with what they carry. Hope that helps xo
