Hi Georgia!! OMG I hear you! I had this happen with our countertops at our current home and it lasted 6 weeks and cost us a ton of time and money waiting. Trades are very busy and overbook themselves sometimes. When this happened to me I had to realize that a million people were trying to get their work done and that they were prioritizing whoever was the loudest. Myself and my husband started going in to the shop every day and then twice a day…calling and texting constantly. It sounds insane but it worked in the end. I don’t think your flooring people will be anywhere near as bad our people so hopefully you have to keep it up for a week and not 6 but in this case my guess is they are going to put out whatever fire they need to and move onto the next if they are super busy. I hope this helps but I truly understand the stress of someone making false promises and lies and not being able to move onto the next step without that trade and having your hands tied because you paid. We’re renovating our townhome, and the stress is killing me. Right now the flooring people are stalling us. We gave them half of f our money (thousands of dollars) at the beginning of May, and no definite date on installation as of yet. The owner keeps putting us off and making up stories (lies). They were supposed to be here on Tuesday and didn’t show. I called him and used some expletives…asking for my money back. What do you do when they have your money and won’t give a date on coming through for us. It is causing major stress. Could you give some advice? Love your blog!

Tana!!!! You’ve been a huge part!! I remember so clearly seeing my logo that you designed for the first time and it feeling like “me”. or the “me” that I wanted my spaces and renovations to feel like and then growing into “my brand” if I can say that and you made that leap from what was in my head to visually reality and I can’t thank you enough for that. And for the space to write in…thank you so much girl. The HGTV thing is a long shot and long process and might not go anywhere further, but we had a lot of fun and its been exciting enough to last me a lifetime. I’ll still be renovating either way that’s for sure though!

I read A LOT of design blogs and its actually so refreshing that your blog has a lot of focus on HOW to start a blog/instagram and WHY…its great to lift the success veil. So many bloggers just have a boilerplate line about how they began their blog: “I just started writing one day and it took off” but that seems so simplified and like some sort of cliffs-notes version of their journey so its SO awesome that you are willing to put it ALL out there!
