You guys! I have spent so much time lately adding finishing touches and new accessories to our kitchen for spring! I’m really happy with how it’s feeling! In this post, I’m sharing so many specific places and ideas for how to add spring decor accessories to your kitchen, without adding clutter. I found these new pieces at The Brick. They have TONS of accessories! The Brick is constantly getting new pieces, so you can check back often to see what’s new in store!
How to Add Decor Accessories to Your Range
Lately I’ve become completely obsessed with adding decor moments to our range. You can do this with any size stove!
Cutting Board
Start with a small cutting board to sit on top of a burner that you can then lift off when you’re cooking.
Utensil Croc
On the cutting board you can add a croc style canister for utensils. Anything that fits your style and is the right size is fair game for holding utensils. I found this white crackle ceramic measuring cup style vase at The Brick.
Fresh Flowers in a Vase
I then got the matching taller vase to add some fresh flowers to our range vignette.
Candle
Lastly a nice candle is perfect for on the stove and can then be lit after cooking to freshen your space. You want a candle that you like the look of the jar that it’s in.
Statement Charcuterie Board
Another one of my favourite pieces for the range is a statement cutting board, or two, or three! They look amazing leaning against the backsplash. I found mine at The Brick. I really recommend a round charcuterie board to add some shape and break up the square space between a range and hoodvent.
How to Add Decor Accessories Beside the Sink
Beside the sink is a perfect place to add some symmetry. I love when I can do something symmetrical and really draw attention to a feature in our home. (The feature being our Pink Sink from Whyte and Company!) In this case I thought using a set of matching white scalloped ginger jars (that I found at The Brick…whaaaaa?!) would really elevate the feeling in the kitchen and add a focal point. Even with the jars, I still have room for a cute soap dispenser!
If you’re wondering where my dish rack is, it’s in the sink. I keep mine in the right bowl and I never have a bulky dish rack on the counter. I’m a huge fan of double bowl sinks for that exact reason.
How to Add Decor Accessories to the Island
I like to keep the island empty expect for a cluster of two vases or even one large vase. I actually just found these glass demijohn style vases at The Brick too! I’m really loving having something transparent in the foreground, so that our view to the kitchen back wall isn’t blocked. These vases feel light and airy with the sun streaming through them.
Branches
I styled the jars with pussy willows, which feel so springy and I love it! I love using branches in this style of vase. Once magnolia trees start to bloom those would be perfect in these jars as well as any faux blossoms.
Love Your “Things”
I don’t have a ton of “things” in the kitchen but what I do have I adore. I think, why not get yourself the cutest little salt and pepper shakers, kettle, toaster…whatever it is, but love it. I really admire my cute little kitchen accessories constantly and they totally spark joy. I seriously was just staring at my new ginger jars like 50 times today and my husband would be like, “are you ok, oh sorry I forgot you’re just gazing longingly at the kitchen again”.
Spoiler Alert
You may have noticed the new shelves we’re working on in the window that divide the kitchen from the new dining room! Full post to come on those…they are life changing!
Style Without Clutter
I wanted to share a photo of my husband making dinner so you can see that you can “live” in a kitchen that is styled, as long as you pick pieces that leave your important work space free. Oh and when you become addicted to the feeling of a styled kitchen, it literally makes you want to keep it clean… I swear!
I have a few more kitchen updates coming soon, including the new plant shelf!! what what!! lol!!
Make sure you leave me a comment, if you have any questions about our kitchen!
