When scrolling Instagram or leafing through a design magazine, it’s almost impossible to find a gorgeous kitchen that doesn’t have a minimum of a 48″ wide range, as well as refrigerators with huge glass doors that show off a perfectly curated refrigerator! In this post, and in real life in our new Lake House Kitchen, I’ve hacked how to get the look of majorly HIGH END designer appliances (that come with sky high price tags) on a budget!!
Disclosure: This post is sponsored by The Brick. As always, all of the opinions here are my own.
All of the appliances in our kitchen are from The Brick and trust me when I say, no one comes over without being blown away by them! Define blown away, you ask? How about asking to take a picture with them to show their partner when they get home…yup it happens often!

My Best Tips to Get a High End Appliance Look for a Steal
- Create the widest range area possible by placing 2 budget friendly high quality ranges side by side
- Choose a high functioning refrigerator with a stylish glass panel that doesn’t need to be styled!
60″ of Range on a total Budget!
48″ ranges come with high price tags. The draw of the large range is to create a big focal point. When it comes to ranges bigger truly is better in today’s design trends. At the lake house, I decided to go even bigger than 48 inches but for a steal, by putting two high quality yet affordable 30″ LG 6.3 Cu. Ft. Slide-In Gas Ranges with Probake Convection™ side by side to get a statement 60″ wide range area on a budget!
I actually wrote an entire blog post just on these 30″ gas ranges and why I chose to put two side by side, and you can read that post, here and see so many more photos of the space!
Now that it’s been a few months of cooking with two gas ranges, I can really give a testimonial to the functionality: we freaking love it!! Oh my gosh two ranges is the best ever!
I love the chunky look of two ranges and we love the option of the second oven when cooking, and there just isn’t a downside to having lots of burners. One of the added bonuses that I didn’t even think of upfront was the drawers under the ranges-they store all of our pans and baking sheets and provide a ton of extra storage for those awkward shaped pieces. My husband is our chef and told me that these ranges heat up super quickly and provide really even heat because they have an extra heating element in the back.

Designer Refrigerator Glass Door Trend Hack
Whether it’s full glass panelled doors, or a glass viewing area, the big trend in high end refrigerators are glass doors that show off a perfectly styled interior. Well in reality when you’re on a budget, you can’t afford the super high end full glass options, nor would you want to with the stress that would come with having to have fully styled food at all times!
LG has come up with the perfect solution to get the high end designer look of a glass panel but all the functionality you need in a refrigerator with no styling stress in their LG French-Door Refrigerator with InstaView
This refrigerator has been THE THING that I’ve gotten the most compliments on when I’m out and about. Like I’m not kidding, people always come up to me and say, “I love your refrigerator”…sounds crazy but it’s so true! It’s just such a show stopper!
InstaView = All Style and no Stress!
One of the biggest design statements and just coolest parts about this refrigerator is the InstaView feature! when you knock twice on the glass, it lights up, so you can see inside without having to open it and lose the cold air. People freaking love doing this when they come over! InstaView gives style mavens the glass door that we see in magazines without the high end price tag and without the stress of constantly having the insides visible so no need to worry about styling your refrigerator.
Another great feature of this refrigerator is that you can keep items you use often like milk, ketchup, Frank’s, and Champagne (priorities) right in the door and easily access them with the Door-in-Door feature shown above. Both InstaView and the Door-in-Door features combine to actually reduce cold air loss by 41% to help keep your food fresher longer.
Deja InstaView? lol!
You might recognize our LG French-Door Refrigerator with InstaView from our last home. There was no way that I could ever get a different refrigerator. We LOVE it! It’s massive and could hold more than we’ve ever even tried to store, and the beverage drawer is like having an entire additional wine fridge, it’s so big. In my last reveal of this refrigerator, I shared how I fit an entire case of wine, a case of beer, and a case of pop, just in the beverage drawer, all at once! Fully Loaded Dishwasher for a Steal
Our dishwasher is the LG Top Control Dishwasher with TrueSteam® QuadWash® and 3rd Rack and we’re super happy with it. The 3rd Rack for silverware is a really high end option that I love, it allows you to lay your silver on the top rack for easy loading, unloading, and better cleaning. (It also has baskets if you prefer loading silverware the traditional way as well.) This dishwasher is massive and because of the TrueSteam technology it cleans the dishes so well that you don’t have to pre-rinse them AND it is so quiet!
How to Get the Look of Designer Appliances on a Budget ReCap
