I’m so excited to share my daughter Juliette’s Boho Glam big girl bedroom with you! Juliette will be turning 5 on November 4th, but she might as well be turning 16…she is so into her friends, clothes, hair, and helping me decorate.
I wanted Juliette’s room to feel really inspired and soothing. I wanted to steer clear of any bold colours and direct kids’ character references that feel a little noisy.
My hope was that through pattern, textures, and a little glam, that I could arrive at a space she would love…spoiler alert: she loves it!! Like she really does! So to parents out there wanting a cohesive home, you can totally have that. Kids have pretty good taste I’m here to say! The only downside is that Penelope wants a new room now, too…and Matt and I are pretty jealous, as well!
Disclosure: This post is sponsored by The Brick. As always, all of the opinions here are my own.
The Perfect Bed
Oh my goodness, I love this bed. I chose the Paris queen bed from The Brick. I love the tufting, the soft grey colour of the fabric, and the way the top rolls over on both the footboard and headboard…such gorgeous details!
Arabesque Shaped Accessories
The arabesque shape became the theme within Juliette’s room. From the shapes within the wallpaper, to the set of 3 mirrors, and then the mirrored sconces, I repeated the arabesque shape each time. I’ve totally fallen in love with it how it’s both modern and feminine….love that tension! Both the mirrored candle sconces and the white washed wood mirrors are from The Brick. They are part of their take-home-today accessories that are all throughout the store. I wish I could link them, but they are changing all the time, so pop in and check out what they have!
Small Space Hack: Leaner Mirror
Juliette’s room is small, so I added a leaner mirror on the wall that wouldn’t be able to fit any furniture on it. The mirror helps make the room feel much larger and gives pretty sight lines to the front of the bed, that you wouldn’t be able to see otherwise! I chose the Hampton Mirror from The Brick. This mirror is perfect because even the frame is mirrored which makes it feel even larger. I don’t know how we lived without a leaner mirror, now that we have it, we’re all always running into Juliette’s room to check our outfits!
I hung a little LED light with the word “Dream” on the mirror, to add some whimsy and sparkle when it’s on.
Dresser Details
I wanted this space to feel romantic and curated, so not too matchy-matchy. This dresser was the perfect solution. The distressed finish and the heirloom hardware make it feel like an antique! It’s the Crestview Dresser from The Brick.
Eclectic Mirror
Designer Tip: Instead of getting the matching mirror that comes with a dresser, opt to hang a statement mirror over it. I debated going with a large round mirror and then I found the Basel mirror! You can hang multiple together to get a gorgeous look and the antique silver finish is reallllly nice. Can you imagine 4 of these together? that would be so good!!
Bedside Table
You might recognize this table from my entryway reveal…I’m a little obsessed and Juliette loved it too, so I put it in her bedroom as well. Because it’s a brass/bronze colour the Deon side table , from The Brick, is a total style chameleon! So in this silvery cool toned space it doesn’t read as gold now, even though it does in our entryway!
Vases
The vases and the corrugated metal circle on the pedestal are so full of texture that I had to get them. All accessories are from The Brick. I also want to find a tray for the centre area of her dresser where she can keep perfume and her jewellery. I have my eyes peeled for just the right piece!
Floor Lamp
There is no overhead light in Juliette’s room, so a floor lamp was key. Found this super cute spindle lamp. I love the painted white wood and the turned details. It’s called the Megan Antique Floor Lamp.
Wallpaper Trick
We wallpapered only the wall the that the bed is on, but to make it feel like the wallpaper wraps the room I added mirrors to the other 3 walls. Being able to see the reflection of the paper around the room makes things feel really cohesive and layered, like bits of the wallpaper are spread out around the room.
This gorgeous wallpaper is actually removable and goes on like a huge decal. No messy water/glue confusion and mess.
The pattern I chose is called Isla Vista in Dusty Rose….it’s so stunning. I’m so happy with the feeling the paper created in the space.
You order right to the height you want. In my case I ordered 9 feet and chose to bring the wallpaper up the sloped wall. I felt like if I didn’t it would make the accent wall feel short and a little anti-climactic. I’m so glad that I did it in the end…it’s a fun little detail.
Mattress
K if you need a mattress Matt and I tried them ALL, and I mean them all! We found this heavenly cloud that has causes me to try and sneak in bed with Juliette…like last night when she woke up and looked at me and said I’m hot…so I had to go back to my mortal mattress lol! It’s just that good.
After major online research and in store testing. I’m not joking, if you know my husband he does not make a decision with consumer reports and major research…the winner is the Stearns and Foster Wynford Plush Euro-Top Mattress!
We have an old house so we chose the option with the split box spring.
The best way to describe the magic of this mattress is that your body is so supported. So I have pain in my shoulder and when I sleep on our old mattress it feels like all my weight is pressing into it and on the new mattress it feels like there is very little weight on it, or my hips, etc. Which is addicting and hence why I keep sneaking into it!! (That makes me sound old eh?! hahaha….the aches and pains have started!)
Bedding
The bedding has the perfect boho feel while still being really romantic. The pink in the bedding is the exact compliment to the wallpaper’s cool pink tones. All the tassels give it so much texture and capture a little’s girls attention. Juliette loves her bedding so much, and so do I. It’s so hard not to steal it! lol! I definitely thought about it!!
Her bed has the queen blanket set in blush, 2 euro shams and body pillow. Body pillows are such a gorgeous way to finish off your bedding. I seriously need to get one for our room. I’m hoping to do our Master next…can you tell I’m living vicariously through Jules or what?! lol!
I also layered in my favourite Love and Peace pillows. I must really love this little girl because I took them off our bed!
I can’t wait to hear what you think? Could you go this neutral in a kid’s bedroom?? oh and…Pillow Fight!!
Thank you so much to the photographer, Vicki Bartel, for capturing such magically whimsical shots of the space and my girls!!!

Hi Leslie,
You did a great job on this rooms design. I love it and we’ll done by taking wall paper up the angled wall/ceiling, it makes a big difference. I love everything about the room especially the Morris at the dresser and the duavet cover. But above all I love the vibe and the happiness it brings the girls.
I recently found your page and love to read about everything you post. Keep it coming 🙂
Best
Suzan
